Maintenance intervals by smartphone

As of now, a commercially available smartphone can be used to get mobile access to specific service information for all PTO drive shaft series via a QR Code on the shaft. As a result, users can call up information on a mobile phone at any time, e.g. regarding maintenance intervals. The QR Code was originally used for marking assemblies and components for logistical purposes in automotive production. The square information matrix now makes it possible to call up information on a smartphone, directly from GKN Walterscheid's Internet offering.

The QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional barcode in a square matrix made up of dots.

GKN Walterscheid already switched all its PTO drive shafts to the new ServicePlus System in the middle of last year. This means that the maintenance intervals are now defined on an application-specific basis.

Maintenance is divided into two classes and governed by the respective PTO drive shaft version and its specific application. Depending on model, the maintenance interval has been increased to as much as 250 hours.

All important information regarding targeted, application-dependent maintenance can be retrieved via the QR Code.
