Fund-raising campaign continuing in 2008 - "Hearts of Gold" launched

Last year, all GKN Divisions held fund-raising campaigns for charitable projects under the title "Mission Everest". The donations collected by the staff were put into regional projects in the home communities of the GKN production locations. The staff of GKN donated a total in excess of 1.7 million dollars. The GKN Group itself provided a further million dollars for aid projects in Africa.

A total of 2.7 million dollars was channelled into charitable projects in this way. The campaign attracted great attention worldwide, partly because it was accompanied by a daring feat at the very start, when adventurer Bear Grylls became the first man ever to fly over Mount Everest with a paraglider. The fund-raising campaigns will be continued at all GKN locations around the globe in 2008 under the title "Hearts of Gold". The first activities have also already begun at the Lohmar location, again with the aim of supporting local aid projects. We will give you regular updates on the progress of the 2008 fund-raising campaign.
