“Mobile Maschinen in Aquarell - Art Engineering” von Andreas Roth

A very interesting art exhibit with a focus on agricultural technology and mobile machines will open in mid-September at the Unimog-Museum in Gaggenau. Andreas Roth, Director of System Technology at GKN Walterscheid, is an expert on gear and drive systems used in agricultural technology. 

Maintenance intervals by smartphone

As of now, a commercially available smartphone can be used to get mobile access to specific service information for all PTO drive shaft series via a QR Code on the shaft. As a result, users can call up information on a mobile phone at any time, e.g. regarding maintenance intervals.

The QR Code was originally used for marking assemblies and components for logistical purposes in automotive production. The square information matrix now makes it possible to call up information on a smartphone, directly from GKN Walterscheid's Internet offering.

According to expert forecasts, bauma 2010 marked the turn of the tide for the international construction machinery industry and will lead to the upswing that the sector has been hoping for.

Despite the flight ban that affected the first few days of the exhibition, a total of over 415,000 visitors from more than 20 countries attended the world's largest trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines and the mining industry. GKN Land Systems took the event as an opportunity to present a number of innovations for the first time at a construction machinery exhibition.
